  2.  Removable Drives with the Acorn Card (A540)

  5.  The SyQuest drives have some timing problems when
  6.  being accessed by the Acorn SCSI card (release 2).
  7.  To overcome this problem the 'disconnect' command
  8.  must be inhibited for the SyQuest drive.
  9.  
  10.  This disc contains two utilities which will help you
  11.  to do this:
  12.  
  13.  ScsiDM      This is a pre-beta release of Acorn's
  14.              ScsiDM program which provides a 'disconnect'
  15.              command when a device has been selected.
  16.               
  17.              disconnect        shows the current status
  18.              disconnect on     allows disconnection
  19.              disconnect off    inhibits disconnection
  20.  
  21.  disconnect  This program will inhibit disconnection of
  22.              a specified SCSI drive given its device ID.
  23.  
  24.              For example: *disconnect 1 will inhibit
  25.              for SCSI device ID 1 (usually drive 5).
  26.  
  27.  This disc also contains a boot file which calls the
  28.  disconnect utility for device ID 1.  You can alter the
  29.  !DeskStart file using !Edit to specify the required 
  30.  device ID.

  32.  If you do not already have a boot file, alter the device
  33.  ID as above, put the !Boot application onto your internal
  34.  drive and then type:

  36.  *SCSI <return>
  37.  *Mount 4 <return>
  38.  *Opt 4,2 <return>
  39.  *Configure FileSystem scsi <return>
  40.  *Configure SCSIFSDrive 4 <return>
  41.  
  42.  If you already have a boot file, copy the disconnect
  43.  program into the !Boot directory and then add the
  44.  following line to the start of your !DeskStart file:

  46.  Run <Obey$Dir>.disconnect 1
